ABOUT DADO PRSO

Dado Prso is a Croatian striker who really rose to prominence just before he joined Rangers, having commanded the attention of Europe when his goals fired AS Monaco to the Champions League final in May 2004.

He began his career with dreams of making it as a footballer and moved to France in search of a club, after an unsuccessful spell with little-known club Pazinka. He played for Rouen and San Raphael before a friendly with Monaco alerted the then Monaco boss Jean Tigana to his talents. Tigana couldn't believe his luck.

Initially he played in the second team, with the likes of Thierry Henry and David Trezeguet before joining Corsican club Ajaccio on loan. He spent two seasons with the French second division side, scoring 21 goals in 53 appearances.

He returned to Monaco in 1999 and made his debut against Bastia. Monaco won the French title that season and it was Prso's goal against Caen which sealed their last title triumph.

His form for the French side earned him a call up to the Croatian national team. He scored on his debut and helped them secure a place in Euro 2004. The 2003/04 season had been Prso's best to date, capped by scoring against France in the first round of the European Championships in Portugal.

Prso joined Rangers in May 2004 and his first season for the Gers proved a great success as he made 46 appearances and scored 21 times, including one in the 7-1 drubbing of Dundee United in the League Cup. He was, however, sent off against Hearts in March.

He was named the Bank of Scotland Player of the Month for February and talk of a transfer circulated as other clubs including Aston Villa became interested. Prso remains committed to Rangers though.

He also revealed he may quit international football after the 2006 World Cup.
